Electrical 1 will cover the general fundamentals of electrical and electronic circuits and components, as applied to, and found on Caterpillar equipment and systems. The technicians will perform electrical/electronic testing and adjusting procedures for machines/engines available at the time of the course. The technician will learn how to interpret a Caterpillar electrical schematic and will gain a better understanding of starting and charging systems. Ohm’s law will be covered as well as series and parallel circuits on the required CBTs, and will be followed up on in the classroom and labs.

Notes: Participants are required to bring work clothes, safety glasses, and work shoes to this class. Participants will be in the shop performing hands-on work.
