What Is Fuel Polishing? - Yancey Bros. Co.

Clean, Moisture-Free Fuel Saves Money

Optimizing your equipment’s performance is essential to keeping your business operations going. Repairs are costly – both to make them and the downtime they can cause.

Keeping a diesel engine well maintained includes making sure that the fuel lines don’t become watered down. Yancey can determine a fuel’s clarity and offer a solution: fuel polishing.

What is fuel polishing?

Fuel polishing reverses oxidation. The process removes free and entrained water, contaminants, and sludge that can build up in the fuel tank over time.

Why do I need it?

Your engine’s health and performance depend on fuel quality. Polishing will keep your engine’s fuel optimized and is a form of preventative maintenance. Current engines and injection systems are complex, and tolerances are tight. Small amounts of containments can damage engine performance, causing loss of power, incomplete combustion, excessive emissions, and injector failure.

How does it work?

Yancey has a team of trained fuel service specialists. Our technician will come to you – be it a facility, dock, or job site. Our mobile fuel polishing systems can meet you where you are and cycle fuel through filters and conditioners that clean, dry, and restore the clarity of your fuel without having to enter the tank.

SOS Lab

Yancey’s SOS oil and fuel analysis lab is state-of-the-art and the only one in Georgia. Our lab can compare the elements in your fuel and oil to hundreds of other similar machines to determine if the condition and trends are OK or need fuel polishing.
