Containerization
This containerized unit was for a Caterpillar dealer in South America. It involved an integral 2000 gal fuel tank, 90 dB(A) at 1 mtr, trailer mount and an IP24 (high level of weather protection - see IP code chart) intake system. Since this unit was a rental, it involved a side exit exhaust system so that the client did not have to worry about traveling down the road with the exhaust rain flap being open in the wrong direction. It also included other features such as an acoustically treated cable entry. The 1-megawatt 3512 set had to be reconfigured so that control and breaker operation was from the rear from the side. No problem!
The impressive feature in this case was the five-week delivery from PO receipt to dispatch, which included design, fabrication, blast and paint, install, acoustic full load test, and cooling performance. All this was done in the midst of the Christmas holiday. This was a situation when the client asked, "Can you do it?" We said, "Yes!" and did it.
