Mower Conditioners
Yancey Ag Products sells and services the line of Challenger's innovative Hay Equipment, bulit for fast, efficient and rugged use and available in a variety of sizes and types. The lineup of Sickle Mower-Conditioners from Challenger is designed for the operator who wants outstanding performance, rugged dependability and dealer service and support he can count on. Challenger three-point hitch-mounted Disc Mowers are built with field-proven cutterbar technology.
Meanwhile, the modular spur gear cutterbed is set into a "cradle" that keeps it from twisting or flexing. The gear-to-gear drive system further lowers the profile, for close cutting. Yet, each gear assembly and adjacent idler gear can be individually removed and serviced, thanks to the cutterbar's modular design.
Disc Mowers
Challenger PTD Series disc mower-conditioners do it all . . . cutting through the toughest conditions, while gently handling valuable crops; uniformly conditioning plant stems for fast drying, and placing the crop into your choice of a windrow or swath. With their center-pivot design, the PTD12 and PTD15 even allow you to cut back and forth and on either side of the tractor. Unlike other machines, though, Challenger mower-conditioners feature a rugged box-beam mainframe that suspends the header in much the same manner as a self-propelled machine.
When you're faced with a tough, tangled crop or tall weeds, Challenger has three models of Disc Mowers that can take on the chore. Challenger 3-point-hitch mounted HTD disc mowers can handle the task. Yet, they cut lush alfalfa and grass hay just as cleanly. Available in three cutting widths, HTD Series mowers feature a low-profile cutterbar constructed of self-contained modules that are bolted together and driven by a segmented hex driveshaft and pinion gears. Not only does this design require less horsepower than competitive designs, but it allows modules to be individually removed and serviced for less downtime and maintenance cost. In the meantime, a rugged coil spring (2 on HTD9) provides flotation support over varying field contours.
Sickle Mowers
Want the performance of our AH Series self-propelled headers at the cost of a pull-type machine? Take a look at the Challenger PTS sickle mower-conditioners. They offer many of the same features, including excellent vertical and radial flotation; dual, counter-rotating conveyor augers, and 110-inch conditioner rolls. The PTS14 and PTS16 even offer the same half-swaybar, dual sickle system that cuts through hay at 1,840 strokes per minute.
All three models feature a hydraulic drive and center-pivot design based on a solid, heavy duty box-beam frame that supports and carries the header much like a self-propelled model. See, you really do get a self-propelled header at a pull-type price.
Hay Balers
Productivity starts right up front on a Challenger RB Series round baler. That's where you'll find a low-profile pickup that collects hay others miss. Centering augers on several models also permit the use of an extra wide pickup. From there, crop material moves directly into an open-throat, vertical bale chamber that ensures easy bale starts and smooth feeding.
Other functional amenities found on the larger models include a bale-shape monitor that measures actual bale growth for better responsiveness; a pickup declutcher for bale overfill protection; separate bale density and belt tension arms for uniform, consistent bales, and a hydraulically actuated slip clutch to protect baler components.
For the ultimate in convenience, Challenger offers the fully automatic RB46 and RB56. With the push of a button, the baler automatically ties the bale, declutches the pickup and belts, opens the tailgate, ejects the bale, closes the tailgate, retracts the kicker and re-engages the drives.
Round Balers
Challenger heavy-duty Large Round Balers are the finest in the industry, built solid, for years of demanding service. With five models to choose from, there's a baler for every operation. These are the best large round balers in the business.
Square Balers
Challenger Centerline Balers (Small Rectangular Balers) are technologically advanced, fast and rugged with the features you want and need to produce high quality bales. They produce popular-sized bales that are easy to handle, small enough to be stacked and fed by hand, and solid enough for long-distance hauling and storage.
Challenger Large Rectangular Balers are the finest in the industry, designed with the latest engineering and innovation, built solid, for years of demanding service. They're well suited to the custom operator, beef and dairy producers and hay and straw operations.
Challenger manufactures Bale Accumulators that feature bale shift bars that automatically move bales right or left to maintain a balanced load, centralized lubrication systems, dual caster wheels and caster stabilizers. An accumulator monitoring system is built into a tractor-mounted console to supply the operator with information about the status of the accumulator.
