Combines and Harvesting Heads

Challenger 600 Series Combines feature an innovative design and highly efficient rotor technology that provides unbeatable harvesting performance with a minimum of complexity. Only 11 belts and three drive chains drive the entire machine; and a total of 31 grease fittings means less maintenance, so you're in the field quicker.

A single moving part - the 140-inch, variable-speed rotor - performs four tasks . . . intake, threshing, separating and residue discharge. The rotor is also hydraulically driven and electronically monitored, so you can set the speed to match crop conditions. Once set, rotor speed remains constant, regardless of changes in engine rpm or field conditions.

Challenger combines are big on power, too. The class VI Model 660 is rated at 285 horsepower and the Class VII Model 670 boasts 340 horsepower. Both utilize a Caterpillar C9 engine that increases horsepower output to maintain productivity in tough conditions or when unloading on the go.

Standard Features
* Large Grain Tank: Standard 300-bushel capacity on both 660 and 670.
* Harvest Management Center: State-of-the-art CAN bus electronics let the operator monitor important engine and harvest functions, including seven shaft speeds, 19 sensor readings and digital display of header height.
* Center-Mounted Cab: Features 62 square feet of glass, tilt and telescopic leather-wrapped steering wheel, luxurious air-ride seat and seat-mounted control console.
* Powerful CAT Engine: The 8.8 liter (538 cu. in.) Caterpillar C9 diesel engine is based on a single-piece, cast-iron block for maximum durability.
* Large Cleaning Shoe: Measures 6800 sq. in. on the Challenger 660 and 8,300 in on the Model 670.

Optional Features

* Smartrac Lateral Tilt System: Automatically adjusts the header tilt to follow field contours.
* Fieldstar Precision Farming System: Provides a record of yield variability across the field.
* Header Options: Choose from a wide variety of Challenger headers including FH flexible headers, CH corn heads, RH rigid headers, PH pickup headers, DH draper headers and SH stripper headers.
