The Cat® Rental Store Now Offers Aerial Lift Training
In May of this year, six members of The Cat® Rental Store’s staff completed a training class that allows them to present a program on Safety Practices and Proper Operation for Aerial Lifts. The training class was conducted by factory representatives of Genie®.
A combination of classroom instruction and on-the-iron training, the Genie class covered all areas related to safe operation, basic machine troubleshooting, and proper operation of both scissor and boom aerial lifts. With the successful completion of this class, these six Cat Rental Store representatives are now able to pass on the knowledge gained on aerial lifts to their many customers across Georgia.
In bringing safety practices and proper operation curriculum to their customers, The Cat Rental Store hopes to help companies obtain higher levels of productivity out of their aerial equipment while improving on their levels of workplace safety for their employees. Equipment operators, mechanics, foremen and job superintendents are urged to attend these classes The Cat Rental Store offers.
Yancey’s Cat Rental Store offers many different models of scissor-type aerial lifts and various models of boom aerial lifts for rent or sale.
The scissor lifts come in heights ranging from 19-feet to 32-feet, in both single and multiple person capacities. Most of these lifts can be operated by either electricity or propane, and you have the option of renting or purchasing all models from inventory. The boom aerial lifts offered by The Cat Rental Store come in heights ranging from 30-feet up to 80-feet. Likewise, they can also be either rented or purchased.
For more information on the lift capacities, up/over clearances and platform capacities of the various lifts, please check with your Cat Rental Store Representative.
According to Tom Tucker, Sales Manager for Yancey’s Cat Rental Store, “Over the past few years we’ve seen a number of our customers struggle with operating aerial lifts in the proper manner. As Genie and the other lift manufacturers have upgraded their models, it seems as if equipment operators have fallen a couple of steps behind the new features of the machines. We hope to close this gap so that our customers can gain the full use of the lifts while maintaining a safe work environment for their employees”.
Tucker adds, “Even though I’ve been in the equipment business for fifteen years, there were things I picked up in the Genie training class that I had not been aware of. It was an eye-opening moment that made me realize the value our Sales Reps can bring to our customers and their equipment operators and mechanics”.
