Challenger Ag Tractor Sets World Discing Record
In September 2007, a standard production Challenger MT875B tracked tractor, working with a 46-foot wide (14 meter wide) set of Gregoire Besson XXL discs, set a new world record, cultivating 1591.36 acres in 24 hours.
The event, which took place in Timisoara, Romania, further strengthens Challenger’s position as the world’s most powerful and technically advanced tractor.
Using Auto-Guide™ to maximize productivity, even in poor visibility conditions, a consistent depth of 4.7 inches was achieved in the demanding heavy to medium clay loam soils.
AGCO’s GTA400 Mapping software was of undoubted benefit during the event, allowing the team to map the enormous 1830 acre field’s boundary, log any obstacles and work out the optimum position for the tractor to cut turning time on the headland.
The supreme output and efficiency achieved in this event show how Challenger can help to improve productivity and cut costs for large scale agri-businesses across the globe.
